First Love

Contributed by m1m1 on Sunday, 27th November 2011 @ 08:08:50 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

You were it, you were my first love
In my eyes you were sent from above.
Seven years ago, you made my heart beat,
Seven years later, that task you repeat...

Oh how things changed, how we grew apart,
But never once did you leave my heart,
Then one day you came back into my life
Little did I know this would cause me so much strife...

You see, I was loved up, with a man I adore
But you had just split and you heart was tore,
We talked everyday and I helped you through your pain
And it wasn’t too long before lost feelings we did regain...

Now I was so confused, I truly loved my bloke...
But you were my first and that bond could not be broke
I wondered everyday about being with you
Should I take the risk, to my heart should I be true?

Do I love you for real or is it all it my head?
Should I get over you and a tear be let shed?
Would I then live in wonder of what could have been?
What happens in the future remains to be seen...

Ok I’ve made a decision; to my love I must be true
But that doesn’t mean I’ll ever forget about you.
You’re my soul mate you see and my lifelong friend
You’ll be special to me until the very end...

your first love can do that to you. Its confusing i know and sometimes we don't know of whether should move on or not, but you know what your heart says" maybe another chance" but your mind says "keep it as an option". By the way you wrote your poem i can tell that you let your mind confuse your heart and your emotion discourage your spirit thus your mind remains undecided, it happen to me too. But never the less, your first love will always be your first love and no matter he will always be in your heart. takecare
