"Alice come to the looking glass" they say,
She approaches the glass and sees what they mean.
There's an extra two pounds on her side,
And ten more sitting on her thighs.
Her head turns away in disgust at her sight,
"Get skinnier and you can join us in wonderland."
What she hears is like gospel from God,
She'll do anything to get into the wonderland she dreams of.
She sets herself a target but slowly falls off,
One trip from the red queen and she's back on her horse.
The madhatter stares her down and belittles her,
While tweedle dee and dum just mock her over and over.
She wants to run away from these poeple,
She knows they don't treat her the right way.
But how can you run away from people like this,
How can you runaway when they're in your head?

Look in the mirror that sees beyond the skin and you'll find beauty every time. Good write. |
