My Treasure

Topic: LovePoetry

My Treasure

All the years of my life
I’ve searched for one thing
The defining of my life
The satisfaction and happiness that would bring

I searched the heavens
All kinds of wonders did I see
Some majestic in their glory
Yet none defining for me

I searched upon the earth
Attained riches of every kind
Yet the key to true happiness
Proved impossible to find

I searched heavens shore
Where hopes and love combine
So many blessings there
Yet none of them were mine

Finally I searched inside hearts
Of people I met every day
I listened with my own
To discern what they would say

That’s how I found her
Found my nugget of gold
In the vastness of her heart
My destiny did unfold

Now I no more wander
No more defining do I seek
I simply listen to her heart
How I love to hear it speak

It speaks of her love
The beauty of our fate
Of the hope that found us
Before it was too late

Russ
