What is a man worth but the deeds he does.
Listen to me carefully and you will find the words of love.
Look at all the silly people, going about their day like ants.
I laugh at them and cry.
Worry not, they're tears of joy.
I wish you could see as I see.
If I could, I would give you my eyes,
And your mind would see all the pretty colors.
Taste the sky in your hair, and look at the sun so high.
Everything is a cloud, and so are we.
All the trees are singing, watch as they dance nude in the moonlight.
Every boy and every girl smiles.
You begin to laugh,
And I laugh with you.
"I want to go flying, like I used to.",
I say, and you agree.
"It's getting harder all the time.
No one wants to fly,
They rip my wings each time I try.
We need to go somewhere,
Where we are accepted for who we are,
and not why they want us to be."

Amazing poem. A poignant reminder of what we used to be and the forces that turned us into who we are. Thank you for the beautiful poem and reminding the importance of not conforming into "adulthood". |
