I try not to hope, misplaced,
faith in others erased, for
a nation in disarray
when he fell on that day
I hold no trust anymore,
only cynicism instead
the wounds were so raw:
why are the heroes all dead
why are the villains in charge
to order our lives?
collaborators at large,
to console grieving wives
from a conspiracy of hate
the cowards fulminate
while the world rotates:
here's what happens
to heroes, all
they fall
the report, so loud
the wave ripples the crowd:
a nation so proud...
back and to the left
back and to the left
and then he falls.

G'day, mate
Yer yank friend here in New Mexico remembers the day innocence was broken by that picture with the poem. I relate to the words. Good job.
I'm back. Missed ya.

G'day Spike,
You can destroy the man, but not his legacy
(tho many have tried). His achievements
speak for themselves, and I grieve for his
achievements that were denied us.
Well scripted, mate.
