Reality -- the Absolute -- is music.
It is a heavenly melody played on heavenly instruments,
in a heavenly key at a heavenly tempo.
We've all heard the music, parts of it anyway,
and now it's stuck in our heads.
We try our best to play what we hear,
or once heard,
and desperately hope to hear again.
But our instruments,
our rhythms,
everything about us and around us,
is earthly.
We are always off-key.
But here and there,
now and then,
you play something I recognize.
And it is for these pitiful, beautiful moments
that we keep playing.
