war

Crouched among crumbs of forsaken landscape
Fear choking out their breath and souls
Constricting minds, warping senses
Once more, peering through deaths lenses.
Awaiting the tears of a god
To whistle down from the blackness
To make its mark on upturned turf.
Fate tightened its noose
On children forced into elderly shoes.
Soldiers, killers, slayers, neighbors
As gaunt as the ghosts they would become.
All essence stripped away but
Empty distant stares,
were all that was left,
of cattle sent in to be slaughtered,
Rows of men march forward, eyeballing their deaths!
Alas, dead before enemies eyes they met.
Bloods Crimson shade,
erupts on early mourning mud.
The nameless died with no remorse,
but as funnels of flesh,
enemy guns they did crudely test,
gracefully remembered in their decaying rest.
