A feather fell down from the sky.
I dipped it’s tip till the ink ran dry.
On a parchment I scribed words and dots,
To save for posterity this poets thoughts.
A feather fell down from the sky.
It weighed far less than all your lies.
For even as you speak to please,
Your words float away in the slightest breeze.
A feather fell down from the sky,
Now on my grave stone it does lie.
And contained on it the words you said.
Which like me now, were always dead.
A feather fell down from the sky.
It brushed your cheek and it made you cry.
For then you thought, what might have been,
Had your words been true every now and then!
In all the dark poetry I write, I am drawing on my experiences as a Law Enforcement Officer and receiving ideas from what others have actually said to me over the years! I am a happy go lucky guy who just tries to convey the anguish of others in verse. Here’s to a brighter future!

I like it alot. Keep up the good writing. There's plenty of feathers out there and I would estimate as many liars. |
