Grow, My Hearts

Contributed by dvtpdw on Friday, 18th November 2011 @ 05:32:48 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

My heart screams in agony, the pain beyond comprehension
With each beat the bleeding increases, can this ever end

The joining of our two hearts created the two of you
We grew you with love, pruned with goodness, watered you with joy

Your time with us passed so fast, soon each went on to new roads
You joined a heart and created new lives that you were suppose to grow

But somewhere along the way, you picked the path of selfishness
You now have no qualms about just turning and walking away

You think you and you alone are the only ones that matter, you narcissistic pair
You think your lives are just for you, you have no time or love to share

Here's a funny piece of truth, can you spare a chuckle this way
You are the ones who lose, so sad you didn't want to stay

We'll keep these grandchildren safe, and fill their lives with love and hope
We'll be there to stand and say, look how great and wonderful they are

So this little poem, this little ditty, is just my way to vent and say to you
Go away, take the dark with you, we don't need what you don't offer

We'll carry on without you and never miss one single heartbeat
Cus it's so much nicer to sit in the light of love, and watch these children grow
