Love's Shadow

The flame that licks the darkness,
oft seems brighter than the sun,
and when its dark reflected light,
across your skin does run...
It bears a bleak resemblance,
to the love in me that died...
and when I try to find the flame,
love's shadow mutes my cries,
it fills up every hole,
and hides behind my lies,
and it will only show its face,
when hidden in disguise,
so listen to me closely,
lest shadow take you too,
there is a beast that hides within,
and that beast's name is truth.

Good, Good writing. It's funny how alike people are and a stranger's words can hit so close to your own life. |
