i walked hand-in-hand with bliss,
and never missed a step.
nothing had i gained by this
in spite of the effect.
i walked hand-in-hand with grief,
and stumbled all the way.
she is a furtive thief
who can steal the soul away.
i walked hand-in-hand with rapture,
an easy road we trod.
my heart she seemed to capture
yet my mind she failed to prod.
i walked hand-in-hand with weary,
many pitfalls on her path there were.
the way was dark and dreary
but i saw in life what could occur.
i walked hand-in-hand with pleasure,
she jabbered all the way.
she left me none-the-wiser
for all she had to say.
i walked hand-in-hand with sorrow,
not a peep made she.
but oh, the things i learned
when sorrow walked with me.

So you feel you have learned alot from sorrow..but not with bliss or pleasure? I'm sure you'v learned and gained so much more from than ever from sorrow. What if sorrow was all you knew? |

This is the way life teaches us how to get
prepared for the mountain tops. You must
first go through the valley's to appreciate
the view from the top. Beautiful write.
I want to thank you for all your very
enjoyable comments on my writes too!
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns (Rob) |
