Don,
You were with us for a little while,
who could not be here long.
You shared with us much gladness
and lent our hearts your song.
Your smile we will remember
with a sudden rush of pain,
as we go on without you
on this the mortal plane.
Your voice will whisper in our heads
when we raise a glass to you, friend,
and toast the memories in your name
awaiting a time to clasp your hand again.
And in the pack of roaring thunder
a vacant spot shall ever be,
where once you travelled in the flesh,
rides now your spirit free.
