ModernThaumaturgist and the Dark Mirror

Contributed by thezenmonkey on Monday, 14th November 2011 @ 08:15:11 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I live in a time called the twenty first century
a time not well suited to men of old like me,
war has lost its bravery there's no more honour to be found,
no more glory anymore there's no such thing left as chivalry,
and on every street the youth wage war.

With blade and gun and dogs,
postcodes the youth don't dare to cross
for fear of
meaningless battles to be lost.

So you could understand why people turn to any form of escape they find,
with computer games and drugs, I for one don't blame them
I too needed to escape.
But with money low and no where to go
how to escape I did not yet know,

for months now I console myself
content creating music on fruityloops,
some tunes were crap but some were good,
thinking one good tune can get me out the hood,

I educate myself reading books and know the true value of a library.
The thoughts and ideas of thousands, left untouched by many,
all the more for me, out of curiousity in my search for knowledge
I became greedy.

Some books more than others apealed to me,
I have tasted the ideas of insanity,
and found them to be delicious,
books of promises of wonderous things for all to see,
imagine summoning a demon to do my bidding
any wish you can make
they can grant for me.

A wise man once said:"To find somewhere that can't be found,
first you have to lose yourself
because you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found,
otherwise anybody would be able to find it".

He went on to say:"Certain places cannot be found with the human mind
because the human mind is not capable of percieving these places
and has not the understanding to comprehend them.
So to find these places, heaven being one of them,
you need to lose or free your mind from all understanding,
once the mind is lost, lost things and places can be found".

Then as quickly as he appeared to me,
he disappeared again through the misty mirror,
so i wiped the mirror but the mist remained
but he was obviously gone untill he is
summoned again.

I thought and contemplated what he said
but soon gave up then made music instead,
eventually I tired and went to bed
lying there his eerie voice
still in my head.

For days on end I wondered what was meant,
by his words so wise, I'd often stay awake
until sunrise just wondering about the words so wise,
he said before he went.

Until one day I suddenly understood,
my mind after all had what it took,
to understand the words of wise,
of who's meaning was once disguised.

A LIttle Experiment for you to try:
1 Place a mirror flanked by candles in a dark but not pitch black room making sure no light shines on the mirror.
2 Stare with a relaxed fixed gaze into the mirror from a foot or two distance in front of the mirror.
3 Do Not blink or change the direction or intensity of your gaze.
4 What should happen if you did it correctly is the mirror will go pitch black, your reflection will disappear
and a different reflection of some one or something else may appear.

really great poem. I'd be too spooked to do that last part though
