Arriving at the death of September,
Four blackened years trapped in rehab now close.
Beret, boots, pension, pounds,
Desperate Lions sit on conquered globes.
A new face to end familiarity,
a colonel's smile,
a career defined,
Rod-like, silent; Marines at night.
Once timeless brothers, tall and quiet;
Were the Crown, the Laurels. We are the Lions.

'Discharge' is dynamic poetry. It is something like lightning. The bitterness haunts throughout. The struggle doesn't end. This is a hard poem. Rough sculpture. Natural stone. And. Excellent. --FlintHunter
