It is raining heavy, but i try
I try to make a living and get by
I'm at the traffic lights hoping you can see
Look into my eyes maybe and see that this was not my destiny
Fate or maybe lack of degree thru me this way
Every night i get home and give thanks as i pray
For now i have food again
It fills my young however plain
I might not wear the perfect clothes, i might even look astray
But for your daily news on paper, I am the one you have to pay

'The paper boy' is an essential poem. It is more important than even the gorgeous sonnets and ethereal pastorals we write. You should be proud of yourself -- and you are -- i can see it. Good for you! --FlintHunter |

The news you deliver is never as
important as the one who delivers
it's message, to the lives of the
most important people on Earth,
the little ones who eat that plain
but nourishing food you provide.
Blessings,
Robert Edgar Burns
