Take me lord,
Guide my footsteps upon this earth,
Heal my wounds
Heal my scars,
Hear my cry in the anguish of the night,
Here you are
Let me worship you
Creator
Maker
Decider,
All men must bow to you
Eminence.
The candle that glows in the glistening dark
The unbridled spark of freedom and love and the force of nature
Wrapped up in divine repentance,
If I were to wander like a lamb led to the slaughter
Would you save me?
Comfort me?
Guide me not from this calling of holiness,
Numb my pain,
Like a true father,
Call to your sons,
Call to your daughters,
If I was to immerse myself in it
Would then the squalid waters of the Thames wash away my sins?

'The Thames Prayer' is exquisite. What sensitive and emotional writing! Not to worry. You need no river to wash away your sins: you have no sins! What you have, besides a heart full of love, is an eloquent poetic voice. G-d gave it to you... What?
