Tears of Lonliness

I sit alone and drink to this lonely song
I was once happy, but those days are gone.
Someday I will revisit them, this I swear.
But for tonight I am all cold and alone.
Everyday that goes by, I die more and more.
With each passing tear, I slip further still.
Many times I've stopped my breath, praying it would be my last,
But alas, I've been too much a coward for thoughts such as that.
I drink to preserve my sanity, or at least what little is left.
I sob to the beat of memories past.
Such a sad, sad song is playing, both inside and out.
All these years I have lived, they will soon be gone.
The hand that pulled the trigger is cold, and forever alone.

I love this poem. It speaks to me in so many ways. Everything written is exactly how I'v felt, and still feel. |

Great poem. I feel your pain. I've been down for awhile now and it seems that it's here to stay. I to reflect on the happiness from the past. I keep telling myself that those highs I once had will eventually come back. I hope sooner rather than later. |
