Cast a glance over here,
dear friend, while passing by,
I am warming by a lonely flair
of waning hope-tendrils fire.
Think of me, dear friend,
when your happy cheeks flush,
your eyes sparkling at depth,
cast high above pain and loss.
Some would say, I am a beggar,
Some hold me up as queen,
To others I am just a woman,
or a mystery, a dream.
I am one and all of those,
and only through the want to see,
is my mask brought forth,
with each glance, its own kind to be.
But beneath it all, is a soul,
trembling, waiting, ready to soar,
and be seen only for what is,
yearning for the mask to fall.
So, cast a glance over here,
dear friend, while passing by,
catch a glimpse of my soul, bare,
and spare me just one, warm smile.
