I'D BE MISSING HER!

I stir my coffee clockwise.
She stirs the other way.
Then she mixes sugar in her cereal,
For so long it seems like play.
She leaves the cupboards open.
She does it every time.
I close them right behind her,
For it seems sometimes she's blind.
I come home from the barber,
And never hear a word.
She never seems to notice,
Even if I shave off my beard.
Once I shaved half my mustache,
Carved initials in my hairy chest.
For three weeks she didn't notice,
Till I shouted “hey, look at this!”
She asked if I saw her glasses,
While they were sitting up on her head.
She tried to change a t.v. channel,
With the telephone beside our bed.
Once she answered a door knob,
When the alarm clock rang out low.
She sleep walked to the front door,
And bowed down and said “Hello.”
These things are oh so petty.
But one thing I’d like to say,
“If my darling ever leaves me,
“I'd miss all those things that day.”
