For the selfless souls who won us the prize
For the young naive who were soon made wise,
For the nation’s future they scarred their eyes,
Not for bratwurst or sushi but for steak and ale pies,
For the king, queen and country, they prevented our demise,
For the peace to exist now above Britain’s skies,
I'll be sure to remember when November arrives,
The sacrifice they gave for us, the ultimate, their lives.
Remember

11.11.11. is a beautiful and meaningful poem. It is a tribute to the many people who sacrificed everything that we might live free. There is nothing to do but thank them -- as you do with with this fine poem. -- FlintHunter |
