LoveRemembered
|
I trusted in your heart
And closed mine to the world
The pain was too much
The cogs and wheels
were better suited to the grind
I can work mechanically
I gave you my heavy heart
and your dreams were my command
compensation for the burden
All this wordlessly
And just as wordlessly
You ripped my chest wide open
Bloodstained and tired
you returned my lump of metal
And left me in the cold
In viscera you found what I had lost
I didnt need your heart
and never gave you mine
It was beating warm within me all along.
