I Miss The Sound Of Her Voice

I Miss The Sound Of Her Voice

Although it’s reasonable
The silence is palpable
Taking stock I look around
To locate that sound
But I strive in vain.

Where is she and what is she doing?
How is she and how is it going?
The answer’s not clear
For she is not here
How strange it affects me so.

The chance to talk to her
Makes me an auditory stalker
But I am a good friend
And her well-being I’ll send
In a note or maybe a letter.

It’s only been weeks
But through the troughs and the peaks
I’ve come to know of her plight
Through the day and the night
And her travails I hold dear.

Although in the end
I’m only a friend
Though not through a choice
I miss the sound of her voice.
I wonder whether she feels the same?
