You walk along this precipice... with sand beneath your feet,
it starts to churn, but when you fall... you'll find you are asleep...
with every step... you try to take... the sand brings you back two,
but from this dream, we never wake... so sad... and yet... so true,
but in the end... you reach your goal... though backwards you may walk...
but even those who live in dreams... cannot escape a thought...
for even great and mighty men... will balk their precious plans...
for no one can escape this place... this fortress made of sand.

What comes to my mind is this:
Like Shifting Sand in an Hour
glass, so are the days of our lives!
The sands of time!
Blessings,

I may understand this, for it made something inside me lift up. You are wise, and i love your poem. |

'Shifting Sands' is a striking poem -- eloquently phrased and -- to me -- pretty clear in its meaning; but I won't tell what I think it means because what if I am a dope (don't go there). Anyway, a solid song this one: thanks for posting for all to read! --FH |
