Heart of the Storm

Cold air caresses tender skin...
coarse words.... creating brash feeling,
refreshing... but uncomfortable in essence,
this warmth that others are stealing...
sacrificing comfort to open others' eyes,
slowly sapping away the warmth until winter comes,
but the winter shall never fully take me,
and it is winter's lonely heart which I shun...
for it is a tattered coat of truest love that shelters this frail husk,
and it will forever stay upon these weary shoulders.

Old Tattered Coat? That is definitely me! LOL!
But those coats are by far the most familiar
and comfortable, just like the oldest and most
beat up teddy bears are the ones our kids
reach for the most. Good observation and
great job communicating these points.
Blessings,

'Heart of the Storm' is a stunning real-life love poem. It deserves to be read over and over again. The last two lines are incredibly poetic -- so powerful -- so perfect! --David aka FH
