A storm taps the window
Partner flame with a fist
Lightning shocks marrow
Warmth tumbles finesse
Visions spy the sparrow
Too tied up to be missed
Let urge be your pharaoh
Soothe its pain with bliss

'Winter Fire' is a powerful poem. Although about half of its message eludes me, i love its sound, its meter, its tone. My absolute favorite line is 'Let urge be your pharaoh.' Thanks for another great poem. [Hope all pain goes away.] -- David

I love how each line is an action within a description, creating a metaphor for a feeling or a concept. Your poetry truly is unique and also beautiful. |
