THE TRIAL OF BLOOD!

Contributed by robert_edgar_burns on Monday, 7th November 2011 @ 05:40:29 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

A woman steps into a church,
Having nowhere else to go.
A night of passion and drug use,
Left her spirit feeling low.

Hearing singing with her head in hands,
And her face pointed toward the floor,
For the first time she really listened,
Still unsure what she was sitting there for!

What had pulled her inside?
An incredible force she thought.
She had thought this all was crazy,
This notion of a loving God!

But tears began to flow from her freely.
Toward the ceiling she lifted up her eyes.
“Forgive me Lord” she was heard to whisper,
As she asked Him to come in and be her guide!

Years went by,and she joined the congregation,
She met and fell in love with the pastor’s son.
They set a date for a beautiful wedding,
But the congregation was so sorely stunned.

Backbiting members fought and put their feet down
Causing that little church to go and split!
How could he ever marry such a sinful woman,
Who had lived the lifestyle she had previously lived?

The pastor’s son stood up and loudly yelled
“This condemnation from all today must Stop!”
“I’ll not let you put my betrothed on trial here ,
And shaming this church and our Holy God!”

“It is not my beloved your are trying.”
“You know this is a trial of precious blood!”
“For if our savior would not condemn her,
He would have written our names too on that ground!”

“Can Jesus blood wash away all sin?”
“ We sing it can most every day!”
“Are we hypocrites here in these pews?”
“If we are then all of us should walk away!”

The pews were now stained with moisture,
In those seats now existed no dry eyes.
This trial of blood was aimed at our Master.
The guilty were repenting as they cried!
