MY INSPIRATION

What makes me want to go on breathing?
What motivates me toward long life?
How do I receive my inspiration?
Look no farther than to my wife.

What causes me to see any beauty,
In a world that’s filled with pain?
What causes me to bask in the sunshine,
Even though the world is only full of rain?

What causes words to flow like a river,
From my heart and then onto a paper page?
Why do I write the love songs that I give her?
She’s the star that’s standing up on my hearts’ stage.

My heart will never take a long vacation.
Many words are always moving through my head.
It’s because I have the greatest inspiration.
And my heart by her will be forever led.
