In an alcove in the shadows,
Beneath a star lit sky,
A silhouette appeared to me
Then suddenly came to life.
A vision of great beauty.
I gasped, she was divine.
It caused my heart to flutter,
And wish that she was mine
Her hair was long and flowing.
And I wondered for a while,
If in the shadows I was showing
My awestruck longing smile.
Above her head she lifted arms
To place ribbons in her hair.
I began to behold her many charms
That I badly now want to share.
I’d like to paint that image
On the canvas of my mind,
To keep in my hearts’ gallery
Until the end of time.

"In an alcove in the shadows,"
I love that line!
This poem is full of emotion and it's so beautiful. You're a great poet and I hope to be as good as you someday. |
