Darning the darning
You know you’re a cheapskate when you’re darning darned socks
You could buy new ones but you like these and they only need a stitch
So you fix the holes and they are as good as new
Darning the darning
Making the old back to new
You’re not really a cheapskate, you an optimist, for shore
Fixing the broken, ripped and holey
That’s what glue, thread and needles are for
We have to be practical
If it isn’t broke too much, fix it,
Darn the darning; fix the fractured, plug the holes
