LoveRemembered

I saw you across the room and you smiled at me.
My friends drew you into my circle
Your impish grin, perfect hair and ready smile
Blew me away with the first flash of teeth.
You height – perfect. Perfect for me.
Your lips, (oh your lips!) fit mine to a T
Your arms around my waist
My head on your chest in a slow motion dance.
The sweetest kisses I’ve ever known
Sharing secrets on the dance floor
Looking into your eyes, smiling like a fool
How can it be that I’ve just met you?
Intense chemistry and bonding
Always touching, drawn to your side
Your hands on my face, my back, my waist
We kissed, and kissed, and kissed
Unending wonderful kisses that warmed my soul.
Our friends teasing us
“Come up for air you two”
We couldn’t release each other
Couldn’t stand to be apart.
And now the sad part. The ‘break my heart’ part
You are not mine to take.
You belong to someone else
I can’t stop thinking of you.
I have cried all day and night
This sense of bereavement bewildering
I am misting as I type
And I just don’t understand why.
Is this a case of soul mates?
It happened all so fast
I miss your body warming mine
And hope, beyond all hope
That you are missing mine.
