Looking back

Looking back
At my life
And all I've been through
What did I do wrong
What did I do

I trusted her
I cared
I really belived
Was it all a lie
Was I decived

The things in my heart
I should have never said
The good I saw in her
Must all be dead

I know what I am
I know what I can be
But she is blind
I guess she'll never see

Keep me holding on
For something not there
Why pretend
Pretend you care

She wanted love
Some one to care
But she's too scared
Too scared to share

What she feels inside
The true person
She can be

She can hide it from most
But never from me
My eyes are open
I totally see

She lives her life
As if it's a joke
Trying to forget
All the times
Her heart broke

I will always love her
From now till my end
My prayers for her
I do send

She wants me to give up
And walk away
But deep inside
I know I must stay

For I see in her eyes
The hurt and pain
And how she fights
To try and maintain
Forgetting it all
And staying sane

I might have a big bark
But I never bite
If I did'nt think
She was worth it
I would'nt bother to fight the fight
I can never give up
On something so right

This is such a great poem, so true and it touched my heart I wish I had someone so true. She does not realize how lucky she is. Great Job!! :~)
