Last night I gazed into your eyes,
And saw your glad free smile.
It had been missing from your heart
For such a long, long while.

The smile that used to drive me wild
So many years ago,
Has now returned, and you have earned
The right to wear that glow!

Your heart was torn and left for dead,
By one in whom you trusted.
So when at last you tried to feel,
You found your heart had rusted.

I must admit that when I saw
The tears down your face a streaming,
My heart did break but you’ve replaced
Those tears for a grin that’s beaming!

But now it’s back, that warm sweet glow,
A gift from God above!
It’s good to see and watch you grow,
In the hope of new found love!
