I wish that you could lay on me
The pains which cause you agony
The lack of rest seen in your eyes,
Causes me inside to cry.

The pressures of your home and job,
Cause you often I know to sob.
They'd be much lighter on my back
I'd carry them gladly and would not crack.

I really truly want to help.
If only you knew just how I felt!
Then you would share with me your load,
So together we could walk life’s road.

Though I may never be your crutch,
I’d like for you to lean so much.
Or at the least please take my hand,
Oh precious one, let me be your man!
