The piercing shriek of a little girl,
As she pretends to flee from harm,
While being chased by a brother,
Right outside in her backyard.
The chirping of the countless birds,
That daily do pass by,
And in the approaching winter,
Going southward fill the sky.
The little gasp of air,
When another goes Ah-choo!
The automatic reply of the other,
That echoes “God Bless You!”
The smacking together of two pairs of lips,
When affection you want to show.
The melodic way that she tells you,
That she never wants you to go.
The silvery tones of your lover,
As she whispers “I love you.”
The gentle moaning’s and sighings,
That come from both of you.
Have you ever heard a sonic boom
As a jet breaks through the clouds?
Or listened as your toddler,
Whispered in your ear quite loud?
These are some things
Helping life go round.
The wonderful, blessed,
Things we call sounds!
