10:09:2011....
Your child's laughter.
Lingers on for ever after.
When all the games are done.
They will never forget the fun.
They fall and get hurt.
Crying they run to you covered in dirt.
Mommy Daddy help me please.
You pick them up & kiss the scratch on the knee.
They smile at you all is well.
They go play and soon forget they ever fell....
RR.
To all dad's out there don't make the mistakes I maid
that will cause you to loose your family life is worthless
without your wife and kids! I beg you heed my warning
I know what I'm talking about. :'( :'( :'(

Sorry to hear this. Great poem though. Fatherhood must be such a rewarding yet difficult process compared to motherhood. It's also strange how young girls are often taught to nurture, while young boys are taught to be cool, and destroy things. Either it's just natural, or it's society's attempt to persuade children to behave in gender-specific roles, such as mothers to nurture and give care, while men aren't to behave as fathers, but to fight and serve in war. |

Such a bittersweet piece. You have captured the innocence and joy that children bring.
At the same time, knowing that it has been snapped away from you makes it all a bit heart wrenching.
