My Word

Contributed by sanders on Tuesday, 25th October 2011 @ 09:58:22 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I keep on asking to myself
What pleasure abandonment gave
To stop speaking for myself
And listen to all what others had to say.

I keep on asking to myself
When was the last time I preferred to choose
To stand up for all that I thought was good
And stop thinking about what would happen,
only if I could.

I keep on asking to myself
How much more do I have to feel
To convince myself that I really need
And start fulfilling all that I once had wished.

I keep on finding a chance to say
I also have the right to express, if I may
But alas that day is yet to come
When my feelings shall also matter to some.

I like how you wrote this. Some of it worded almost feeble in nature, like a baby, then you seem to answer yourself with a challenge...A call to action perhaps.

If your feelings matter to you, then let them out. Often.

We must also listen to be heard though. ;)
