In the days since I saw you last
There’s a pain in my chest that just won’t pass
It’s certain I’d be better without you
But you opened my eyes and made me see anew
My palms get sweaty and my knees feel weak
There’s a knot in my stomach when I try to speak
The second you leave I miss your smile
Even though you say it’ll only be a while
I wish I could tear this thing from my chest
And put in on ice to make it burn less
Your every line and curve I have memorized
Along with your big brown eyes that have me hypnotized
Love is a strange and funny thing
Though abstract in concept, it still can sting
Honey I don’t know what else to say
Despite the pain, you’re in my heart each day
