Blue and Brown
I gave my love to her
She gave her love to me
We laughed and played like children
Beneath an apple tree
I looked down into her blue eyes
She looked up into my brown
As we headed to our wedding
On the other side of town
I stood before the preacher
I stood before the man
I could feel my love tremble
As I held her little hand
I heard the words whispered
Do you take her for your wife
And I whispered back I do
For the woman is my life
I heard the preacher ask her
Do you want him for your man
And she whispered soft and gently, I do
As the ring slid on her hand
I looked down into her blue eyes
And she looked up into my brown
That was 30 yrs ago
On the other side of town
Love should last forever
Because that’s the way it’s made
As our hair turns white as snow now
Our love could never fade
Tears formed in my old eyes
And one went running down
Our love is for the ages
As blue looks into brown
To my loving wife Patricia
