THE GOING RATE

Thirty pieces of silver is the going rate.
You can come at midnight for we are open late.
Take a piece of Heaven and toss it all around,
Then show no mercy as you stomp it on the ground.
Thirty pieces of silver is all that it did cost.
For the end of one fellow, who came to win the lost!
If you know this story, is there something that you missed?
Don’t you remember he was betrayed by just one kiss?
Thirty pieces of silver is a tiny sum to pay.
His life is truly priceless in the most precious of ways.
Tough minded and soft hearted, an encourager on the run,
For one who had no home on Earth, He was still a Kings Son!
Thirty pieces of silver may not seem as much too great.
But it can damn the souls of all people filled with hate.
What cost would you have had to pay to end this hideous crime?
Not all the wealth within this world, for the ransom He paid was mine!
