Regret
Time flows like a river, swiftly flowing
Beneath the bridge of memories past.
Images of kith and kin teeming, swirling,
In a maelstrom of emotion whirling,
Stirring the waters of forgiveness, cast
Your net across the temporal flow
And catch the tears of shame below
And bathe in them and surely know
The guilt and sorrow of the changeling
Whose absence from your life was vast
Regrets from him forever last.
