Summer Love

A young heart
Stagnant in the depths of a barren field,
Unmarked.
Patiently waiting for the luminous sun.
Unknowingly, he traces her heart
The first treads upon the untouched sand.
Song birds tell the secrets of her essence
He listens carefully, taking her in.
Buoyant in his arms, she floats.
Weightless.
Safe from the undertow now
Invincible from harm, he has secured her.
With time, the sun lowers its gaze
Slowly becoming the unmentioned night.
She makes haste of what’s left
Lets down her sun kissed golden hair
Absorbing every last inch of the light.

Beautiful use of imagery and the
purest feelings of young love, in
the summer sun!
Blessings,
