Ghostly Farewell
Looking round the sea of faces
He’s focussed on the poignant spaces
Of fallen comrades already passed.
One he knows, the tears are falling
She cannot hear his desperate calling
To stem the tide it hurts so much.
He cannot bear to see her pain
And tries to call her yet again
But in vain and so prepares to leave.
The light above is warm, magnetic
And there more faces, passed, eclectic.
One last look at those assembled.
Passing a ghostly hand through that lovely face
He blows a kiss and moves apace
To join his fallen comrades in the sky.
