The Nightmare.
The path is long and forked and cracked
Whilst ever present demons lie in wait
On either side scurrying, busy awaiting bait.
The heavens thunderous thumping wracked
By nature’s sounds of symphonic melancholy.
Another fork, alas I am undone;
Which way to turn, I know not why
I falter, kneel let forth a cry.
I cannot find my way to you
Around me devils ever closer crawl
I beg you now my love imbue
Me with direction so to you I’ll come.
What now, a sound and once again
I turn and you are lying there
Upon the bed your lustrous hair
Spread upon the pillow where
My head rests close to yours my love.
