A little background to this poem, I was in a wreak Tuesday, my car now has half the hood space it once had and I am lucky to be alive. I once wanted to be a famous poet when I was younger so I'm back to try writing again. It seems when bad times start to flow in the words come easier. I hope you like it
I can't help but think what could've happened
How that day could've been my end
It could've been my last
I could've come face to face with my past
It could've happened all in a flash
All ash to ash
dust to dust
But I'm still here, still I have to think
What if I took a drink
and dabbled in my imagination just for a spell
What if I forgot it all
Who are you who am I
What if I cracked my minds eye
I could've came out a new person
A shadow of the old me
I wish I could see me now
like that, wondering if it'd be better
I still am in tact
Though my mind still can stand the fact
It could've been different
I could be gone long dead
But I still have thought in my head
Drinking my drink for a spell
Wondering if I'd rather be rid of this, and go to a new hell
I'd miss so much, but right now I have so little
I believe I'm letting myself get drunk off this drink
As I let my minds eye sink
So for now I'll stay solid and whole
Only imagining it as I pass by
Ash to ash
Dust to dust
It could've been different
It could've been my end
But that day luck was my foe or maybe my friend
To early to tell
