In the forest where none may pass but you I have sought every desolate twig, every clandestine sparkly moss, every drop of dew sliding solemnly to its final end. In this masterless labyrinth I have chased every blade of light eluding the covering mesh, every game I could unfree as my own when the only thing I should have sought was you, twinkling in the twilight winds as they sigh through every pulsing leaf and every fallen dream, speaking softly through the perennial silence of cluttered emptiness, awakening inside my head in bouts of icy freshness, singing joyfully in the trickle of a snaking streamlet and all the while I had let the vibrations park at my unhearing ears, fade away at my dry weary eyes, disperse at my uncouth nose. Anything but pass through to where they belong, in the deepest trough of the endless well…Why? How could one miss the waves of at-onement as they brush against the cases of these tacky tombs, promising a calmer struggle, a firm branch to hold on to, a clearer trail through the wedded terrestrial bushes, coughing up our primordial screams to be unpoisoned by the knowing, patient mistresses of wilderness as they belly dance their way to the seven doors, reminding us that all is not chained below, that some take off and cry for us from above, that not all wings can fly…. that some believed in what hid behind their grasp. So here I am, shattered like the crunchy leaves I trek on, crushed like the helpless stone facing a ruthless waterfall across the street, lonely as an Easter trillium searching around for a companion, lost as a branch predestined for a fiery creek. Here I am, a drop of blood in a thoughtful ocean, shivering from excitement unlike that of flesh ravaging flesh, blunted by incubusian visions of the maddening shore, skipping rounds of life as I marveled at the beauty around me from the midst of a disquiet unforgiving desert. The wall slowly melted till I finally bent down and kissed a blushing blazing star. She was always there for me. I will always be there for her too. Turned out she was just as scared. Turned out we are not alone. Then I looked up and everyone went his way and the trail undressed to my cleansed eyes, the symphony was finally in tune. I picked up my bag and smiled, behold I am coming to you.

Behold- a masterpiece worthy of notoriety! Very in depth and sophisticated are the themes mentioned here. Love is often taken for granted yet fortunately, as mentioned in this lovely work of poetry, there are those who come to realize that a loved one is worth more than gold. Take care and God bless,
Deidra |
