My Beloved
Beloved with your eyes of green
The like of which I’ve never seen
Your countenance does make me weep
And keep me from a healthy sleep
You’ll never hear complaint from me
As I am lost beneath your spell
I beg you darling take me whole
My heart my mind my very soul
For I wouldst pledge myself to thee
The one whose love you have set free
I am yours for all eternity
Don’t ever leave me please I beg
When we are old prepared to die
Then side by side we’ll surely lie
For without you I could never live
And so to God my life would give
To enter peace with you my dear
Our spirits joined just like our love

One word, although a cliche, comes to my mind: awww! The sentimentality of true love is beautiful. Your poem portrays every aspect of such love eloquently,

Nicely done with sentimentality and every line bearing a rhyming scheme. The more you write, the harder that will be to accomplish. Let it come
from the heart always, and rhymes will take a back seat to truthful feelings. Good work!
