Cast The First Stone

Contributed by puppy_dog_eyes on Saturday, 8th October 2011 @ 01:00:34 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

Your trivialities float into my hemisphere
Clouds that block lucidity of thought
I do not wish to feast upon inconsequential
Its relevance as sunset to a man without sight

Drip, drip your words like water unstemmed from a tap
Pouring out gossip, a torrent of rumour and supposition
Judge unofficial, more prone to condemnation
Biased to the critical, negative consumed

Poised at the window to everyone else's world
Uninvited watchman, sentinel to wild unfounded allegation
If words take on a colour, yours are always black
Those evil spores escape your lips and fester into lies

Remarks that you wield like sharpened knives
Draw blood from the innocent, stab the unarmed
If you are truly pure, untainted by misdemeanour
Then I will allow you to cast the first stone.
