Death is roaming in my eyes,
come to me oh great demise,
slowly stealing breath away,
eyes are fixed, my thoughts...fade,
come rip away this lifeless husk,
and welcome me into the dusk,
back to dirt... I am the past,
death is here, i'm his at last.

I'd say very true.
I've been missing your post.
Good work, friend.

The opening two lines are haunting. Lovely read, thank you.

Says what it needs to say with nothing wasted.
Death does come to us all , no matter who or what you are.
It is true what they always say, "Death is a great leveller".
Nice write

It's a pleasure to read your work because it's a side of poetry that i enjoy...the darker side that is...eerie images from your words set the tone throughout and it's strange to think that from the minute we are born that we are already dying...well done my friend

It's sad, because I too think this way, but then there's times where I feel so happy, that I don't neccesarily wish to live, but to extend that precise moment for an indefinite amount of time, generally something encompassing human touch and compassion, though this likely wasn't the point of your poem, but then again if it brings discussion, it ends up being great because too often we take our creative minds and intellectual capabilities and capacity for granted. |
