The darkness that I once called home
I then would turn and leave alone
For joy and rapture would fill my soul
Ultimately healing and making me whole
No longer saddened, burdened or bound
A smile would creep, and peace would be found
As fluid as a summer's stream
My hips sway as i would sing
My time is now, Ill face the day
No more to bow, and fade away
I stand atop a mountainside
Smiling wide while kissing the sky

I like this a lot because it sounds like there was a deliberate decision made to not live in the darkness any longer but to make the effort to let joy take it's place. I think a lot of times we don't realize how much determination matters. |
