I am becoming numb, drifting away in a misty blank, I have cut off my hands. They sometimes grope in perfidious places, swimming with closed eyes against fallen rivers walking backwards, gliding cheerfully in a morbid dream, packing off our time and lies in truthful one a day *****everyoneelseism pills. I’m slipping away inside of me, trancing around the benevolent knots they carved in my head, untying the threads that hold it together, the unseen that pulls you in lest they come my way. I’m becoming cold, drinking up the soothing fire of emptiness, offering the dove to the gaping fangs of materiality till I grow too weary to loathe my nothingness, too stuffed to raise my head and shake the veil. I am running as fast as thoughts can deceive just to bark along with the shepherdless herd, God forbid I test a different way. I am choosing not to choose. I am free. I am seeking refuge in the quick sands of ignorance, savoring the pat on the back while dreading the imminent stab. I’m floating across the glittery surface and I won’t even dip a toe, throwing out what I don’t know, what I cant understand. I look in the mirror and I think I know what I’m seeing. I have found out the grips of this absurd being. I’m shutting out the pulsing debris, blending want and need, flesh and seed. I’m already there, oblivious to that which lies beyond the mortars of my walless prison. Come around and I’ll show you a good time, I’m building my fortress on a firm mirage. I’ll plant my trees in your wounds and water them with the aches of tainted hearts, feeding off the fruits against a trembling autumn sky, devouring the crumbs of scarecrow power just to bloat inside. I’ll hoard your sweat for my grave to squander. Problem is I don’t see me there. I just don’t see the wrong in right. I just don’t hear your pain. I’ll buy away consequences. I’ll snatch it on sale. Look around you, you are my slave and guess what, I just won’t let you be. I won’t let go. I won’t let you leave. I’ll stick it out till the stars are torn apart, I’ll cover up the stinky corpse beneath a flowery meadow. I’ll cast a dam on the streaming flow, preaching the last call to the lost train slicing the two-doored field. I have stretched the bow just to see how far I’d go. Problem is, I was just looking at my feet. But it is all good, I have buried myself long ago and even I couldn’t shed a tear. I’m standing silent while my legs butcher it out for dominion. You wonder how I’ve fallen that low. Don’t. You just thought I’m done when I am only getting started. I am your tail, the bloom of your arid land. Try as you may, you’ll just never see the last of me.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
